Discussions on Counter Terrorism Security to be Live on Web

first_img Panel discussions about counterterrorism and international peace and security will be carried live on the Webat http://www.rice.edu/rtv/ on April10.The Overseas Development Council (ODC), in conjunction with theJames A. Baker III Institute for Public Policy at Rice University and the JohnF. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, is undertaking abipartisan dialogue on “America’s National Interests in MultilateralEngagement.”The event is hosted by Rice’sBaker Institute.The first panel discussion on“Counter Terrorism” will be held from 9 a.m. to noon CDT. The second panel on “InternationalPeace and Security” will be held from 1-5 p.m. CDT. The panel on “Counter Terrorism” will be chaired by BarbaraCrossette of the New York Times, and is scheduled to include Paul Bremer III ofKissinger Associates Inc., Martha Crenshaw of Weslayan University and a UNA-USArepresentative, and Michael Wermuth, a senior policy analyst with RAND. The “International Peace and Security” panel will be chaired byPrinceton Lyman, visiting fellow of the Overseas Development Council, and willinclude former U.S. Air Force Gen. Charles Boyd, Bruce Jentleson of DukeUniversity, Jeffery Laurenti, executive director of policy studies, UNA-USA, andCharles Maynes, president of the Eurasia Foundation.
