Barrett was named a finalist for the Davey O’Brien Award Monday.Barrett joins Oklahoma’s Baker Mayfield and Oklahoma State’s Mason Rudolph as the three finalists for the award, given out annually to the nation’s top quarterback.Barrett, who was named one of 18 semifinalists on Nov. 7, has thrown for 2,698 yards and 32 touchdowns, the fifth-most in the country. He has rushed for eight more touchdowns and 605 yards.Troy Smith won the Davey O’Brien Award in 2006, the only Buckeye to do so.Mayfield, whose Sooners are No. 4 in the College Football Playoff rankings, has thrown for 3,816 yards and 34 scores. His completion percentage of 70.8 is No. 1 in the nation.Rudolph has the most passing yards in the country, with 4,115. He has also tossed 33 touchdowns.The winner will be announced Dec. 7 at the College Football Awards.
